Thyroxine

The primary hormone secreted by the thyroid gland, thyroxine (T4), is a crucial part of the hypothalamus-anterior pituitary-thyroid regulatory system. Its role is to anabolitically affect metabolism. The measurement of T4 can be applied to the following indications: primary and secondary hypothyroidism detection, hyperthyroidism detection, and medication monitoring.
